What are these good for? How do they help us?
21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. 22 Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
Enoch lived a long life and was the father of many children.
During his life, Enoch walked with God. He tried hard to live a life that was pleasing to God, and at the end of his life, he was taken straight to heaven without dying.
“Walking with God” means you choose to be like Him and try to follow His ways. When we walk with God, we glorify him by living like his son Jesus while we wait to join him in Heaven.
Do you think walking with God is easy? Walking with God means we sometimes do things differently than the people around us, and this can be hard. We definitely cannot do this perfectly either, but God sent his son Jesus to save us and help us walk with Him.
Was Enoch someone you’d expect to be in Jesus’ family? Maybe, but even though he made a lot of good choices, he was still a sinner. He needed a Savior just like we do! Jesus is coming!
